My baby seems to have a rash on his cheeks...there are little bumps and his skin is slightly red and blotchy in that area. His skin feels rough in those spots, but you can't really tell if you aren't looking close. What could that be from??
What are the tiny bumps on my 9 month old's cheeks?
Definitely sounds like eczema, but take him to the doctor for a diagnosis. Could also indicate an allergy.
Reply:If it's not from him overheating, it might be eztema. Take him to the clinic and confirm it before you put anything on it though.
Reply:It maybe baby acne or eczema,.. But i would check with the baby's pediatrician to be sure, My daughter used to get that and I used aquqphor( It is something that can be bought at the pharmacy or even your local wal-mart) on her skin,...Hope this helps
Reply:Could be baby acne. If your son is teething and drooling a lot it could be that too. My daughter gets those when she drools a lot when teething. I would take him to the doctors just incase. Good luck.
Reply:if it looks more like a rash then it may be eczema... but if they look like zits wit little white heads... DON'T pop them... they're milia.. also called milk bumps... they're harmless.. my lil girl had them for 2 months but they're gone now. :) Hope this helps.. and good luck.
Reply:I agree with everyone else, it could be baby acne or eczema. My daughter had what the Dr. called eczema and gave me some medicine to put on her face. After about 2 weeks, it was gone and never came back. When it comes to you precious little buddle, when in question ask your doctor, you can never be too careful.

RED BUMPS? help?
every time i take a shower, i have red bumps on my skin. they are really itchy too. i tried washing my towel and changing it, but nothing helps. do you know what this might be and how to get rid of it?
RED BUMPS? help?
You need to get det. free. like Drift - wash your clothes and towels in that only. Then change your soap to neutragenia.
You have sensitive skin and these changes will make the difference but it will take sometime..
Reply:an alergic reaction, maybe? or maybe just sensitive skin to hot or something.
Reply:sounds like heat rash try a cold shower next time and see if it is the same
Reply:Try using a different soap. Even if you have used it for awhile, and haven't had that reaction before, it still may be the soap your using. Maybe try a unscented soap for sensitive skin. It is NOT an std, that person is just rude.
Reply:hey i think that you got a rash because well its red but you sold put some cream or if it is really bab go to you near by doctor maby he can help you i hope you get better!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Sounds like a form of Eczema. Did your area switch water sources recently? If so, you might want to buy a water softener or filter (you can get ones you can attach between the shower head and the hose if you have a detachable one).
If its not the water, try switching to a milder soap, like phisoderm.
Reply:I had that problem. When I would use soap like Ivory. Try using soap that say mild on them. This helped me.
Reply:u might be allergic to your soap or shampoo. even if its one u always used u can always develope an allergy. try changing soap
Reply:it could be like body acne maybe
Reply:try using different bath soap. good luck
Reply:Maria,it all depends, if the water is very warm, or on the hot side, it very well could be heat rash. to tack care of it, go to the store and get GoldBond. Ask the clerk in the Rx dept. where it might be. different stores carry it in different areas in the RX dept. rub it on you after you get out of the shower, and it should take care of it. GoldBond works wonders on almost any rash, or skin irritation.
Reply:It could be a variety of things causing it but it all boils down to sensitive skin. Try changing your laundry detergent and using something gentle like Ivory, Dreft or the ALL brand for babies. Anything that's made for babies will be gentle on your skin. Also, watch the really hot water in the shower. Go for lukewarm. If your skin is sensitive, you want to be careful with very hot water. Make sure to moisturize daily, and find a lotion that's made for sensitive skin. Again, you can't go wrong with baby products! Johnson and Johnson also makes products for adults if you feel stupid shopping in the "baby care" aisle. I'd give these things a try and then see what happens. If it's still bothering you, make an appt. to see your doctor. Good luck hun!

I have razor bumps??how do i get rid of them?
are you putting on lotion right after you shave? usually razor burn with the bumps form if you don't lubricate the skin afterwards. try putting on pure vitamin E cream on your skin right after you shave. that stuff works great with sensitive skin.

Ok i have this like little bumps on my balls?
You cant see the bumps unless the skin is strched out and then they are like whiteish a little light then skin color and can barley feel them they feel like a tiny bumps, i am a virgin and have only made out with a girl so i dont have genital wats or HPV do i?
Ok i have this like little bumps on my balls?
I have a similar thing right now, actually. I know it's neither warts nor herpes. Probably just follicle swelling. Takes a few days to go down and happens occassionally. You'll be fine. It's quite normal.
Reply:most likely ingrown hairs.....relax
Reply:No, what you have is normal and nothing to worry about. They are fatty spots. Leave them alone and they wont cause you any problems.
Reply:u can stillm get checked if u are worried even if u r a virgin, but hey could be ingrown hairs.
Reply:Most likely ingrown hairs. But there is a possibility that they can also been fatty benign tumors. Go to your doctor and have them checked out.
Reply:Sounds like hair follicles

How do you get rid of bumps under knees? And red bumps too?
I have bumps like chicken skin a few under my knees and they never really were a problem. Now I get red sores on a knee every almost month, and they hurt when i kneel on them or something. and its not like a pimple that you can pop. its kind of big but not really risen off the skin, only a little bit. HOW TO GET RID OF THESE?
How do you get rid of bumps under knees? And red bumps too?
Sounds like it could be really dry skin. I know my sons elbows do the same thing you are talking about. We use Aveeno lotion, and even use Bag Balm on them at night. Seems to help.
Reply:Stay off them............LMAO

Bumps on arms?
i have these little patches of bumps on my skin. they are red. i pick at them and then they break out into scabs that never go away. i also have them on my checks.
what is that. and they are not pimples. i know that for a fact. what are some products i can use to clear it up. does anyone else get this?
Bumps on arms?
For your arms, I think I know what you should try.
Try exfoliating for a couple days, and see how that works for you. I recommend using a scrub for your feet called "Toe The Line." You can find it at Bath %26amp; Body Work. I use it on my legs and it makes them really smooth. It MIGHT make your bumps clear up a little bit.
Since your arms are a little more sensitive than your feet, I suggest not scrubbing hard with the scrub because it's made for your feet, so it's more coarse.
Hope you find something that works!
Reply:I do!!!! Sucks, I know...I just always use sugar scrub and a good loofah on them. It makes them feel and look smoother.
Reply:that happened to me too, except i got them on my arms and legs, its because of dry skin, so just put some lotion on them everyday and it should go away.
Reply:yes. my friend does. she only has them on her cheeks. she tried laser surgery but it didn't work. That is something that is going to have to grow out when you are older.
Reply:they are maybe a rash........ewwwww!!!!!!
Reply:sounds like eczema. try using aqueous cream or e45, and stop using drying or perfumed products on your face. if you go to the doctor you can get ot on prescription and its free! yey! lol, he can also advise you about how you can change your diet to improve it.
Reply:I would really get this checked out by a doctor if I were you. In that past two weeks have you started any new medicines? In the meantime try some Benedryl. But seriously call a medical professional about this.
Reply:Sounds like eczema.
See your doctor and get a prescription cream. It will clear in a week.
You should probably stop taking dairy products too. Dairy allergies can cause that also.
Reply:its called keratosis pilaris. its a skin condition. 50% of the people in the whole world has it. including me :-(
just use moisterizer day and night
i went to a dermatalist and they gave me lotion for my face and a diff lotion for my arms.
so i would go to the dermataligist.
its only treatable, not curable.
Reply:Hey yours are red so it would be i type of eczem because my friend had that kind
Reply:i dont get them, no...
go see the skin doctor(cant remember what the official name is lol) ask him for products that would be good 4 YOUR skin...
Reply:This sounds like psorasis. This is a somewhat serious, yet manageable skin disorder. You should not try and pick them off, or "scrub" them off w/ a loofah.
Definitely go to a dermatolgist, and get a professional opinion, and some prescription medication. If you have insurance, this should be covered.

there is no cure however Lactic acid (a very effective form of alpha hydroxy acid) can help exfoliate skin cells, but lactic acid is not effective for dissolving lipids, so it can penetrate into the pore and exfoliate the lining of the pore that is a major cause of the problem. For that, you would need beta hydroxy acid product with the active ingredient salicylic acid. It's also helpful to avoid bar soaps that can irritate or clog pores. A gentle body wash is best.

Reply:It is probably eczema. go to the dermaltologist and thery can give you a crem for them.
Reply:Exfoliation is important. I don't know much about scrubs or loofahs but I can tell you about AHAs. Some common AHA's are lactic acid, malic acid, and glycolic acid. Lactid acid can be found in moisturizers such as AmLactin and LacHydrin 5. AmLactin has more Lactic acid but you should consider both. I find them a bit "pricy" but it works for most people.

Bumps, normal or not?
I have small bumps that are skin colored near the opening of my vagina. (vulva) Ever since i can remember i have had them but i was wondering what they could be? i don't have sex so it couldn't be an STD, any ideas? Are they normal?
Bumps, normal or not?
I would get it checked out just in case. But it could just be a normal thing for your body. Good luck

Bumps On Arm. I want them off!?
Ever since I can remember I have had thees red bumps on my skin they are just their don't itch or annoy me but are ugly and I want them off! Here is a picture: http://s94744704.onlinehome.us/arm.JPG is their meds or cream or anything I just want them off!
Bumps On Arm. I want them off!?
This is a very common, unknown skin condition know as
Keratosis Pilaris
Don't waste money seeing a dermatologist because they will only prescribe an expensive, ineffective cream or lotion that will at first lessen the effects, but then your skin will worsen without the effects that the chemicals have on your skin.
My main advice is to constantly hydrate yourself and your skin. Basically drink a lot of water and take short, mild (not too hot or cold) shower and afterwards moisturize. (Vaseline Intensive Moisturizer is a good product)
DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT + EXFOLIATE (scratch or rub off with loufa)!!! This will undoubtedly worsen the condition by drying out and perturbing your skin even more. ALL dermatologist tell me NOT to exfoliate so don't listen to them it will make your light condition HELL!
I've seen 3 doctors about your condition (which I also have) and they will tell you there is no cure, and that a cure is not necessary. We know otherwise...
Good Luck!!

Reply:Excema is a pretty common skin condition. Get some Eucerin cream it is over the counter and if you use it regularly it can greatly reduce the appearance and irritation of Excema...
Reply:I have those too. I've asked a doctor and it is fairly common. It is supposed to be just dead skin cells. It is ugly, but what works best is to exfoliate on a regular basis. Use a loufa (spelling?) in the shower. I also used this REALLY good lotion from Mary Kay. it works wonders. I'm sure any good lotion would work well. believe me with just a little bit of care, you will see the difference.
Reply:Are they on the back of your arms?? If so, I suffer the same problem, and I hear it is common. I have had them ever since high school, but they haven't really gotten any worse. Some of them are dry and rough but most are smooth. I read in a magazine that Eucerin is really good for it, but it didn't really work for me. However, everyone is different so maybe you should try it. Good luck.
Reply:I have had those before and I believe it was due to very dry skin. Is your skin dry?
I got mine under control by really moisturizing my skin, especially in the winter. In fact, my skin gets so dry, I sometimes use olive oil on it before going to bed at night. However, if you do this you will want to shower the next day or you might smell like a salad!
Hope this helps!
Reply:Maybe apple cider vinegar followed by moisturizing would work:
"I have psoriasis and after I have showered, I spritz all over with a spray bottle filled with 3 parts cider vinegar and 1 part water and rinse again. There is no soap residue left on my skin and I don't feel itchy. I think it helps body odor, also." - frugalliving.com

Bumps on face....?
I have tiny bumps that are skin color and some are pink. They are on my face arms and legs. They have been there for 8 years. My friend and cousin has it too. There are a lot of them. It's not acne or anything because it won't go away! what is it and how can i get rid of them? i hate them.
Bumps on face....?
I've heard of that. it might be eczema.
My younger sister has had it since she was born and it is incredibly easy to manage. Next time your at your doctor's, bring it to their attention. If it does turn out to be eczema, then you'll most likely be prescribed a cream to put on the bumps at night.
good luck!
Reply:I have the same thing on my arms and I HATE IT...mine gets better in the sun so when I tan it goes away. I've been to the dermatologist and they gave me a cream that worked a little GOOD LUCK.
Reply:might be ingrown hairs? try a scrub or exfoliant (not on ur face tho using harsh scrubs on ur face can lead to premature wrinkles) might want to ask a doc or a dermetologist about it tho
Reply:I have those too. But only on my arms. I have had them forever. They arent eczema. I dont know what they are. But that is normal. Some people have them and some dont.

How can I avoid Shave Bumps and White Heads after Shaving?
I've seen a couple of great suggestions like exfoliating before you shave and all that stuff. One answer I liked was the Tend Skin product. I saw it in a bikini line question and according to the answer Tend Skin works very well to avoid shave bumps. Does Tend Skin work for the face too, or does it only work "south of the border?"
Any other suggestions would be much appreciated...thanks!
How can I avoid Shave Bumps and White Heads after Shaving?
If you are a black male, you can use:
Magic Shave by Soft Sheen Carson. IT comes in a turquoise bottle. It works like Nair, except it is for your face. It stinks like crazy, but dammit it works. There is also some special lotion called Bump Fighter that comes in a black bottle. All of these should be at your local Wal-Mart.
Also, try using an electric shaver, not the kind with the three discs that rotate, the kind that look like clippers.
If you still prefer the cream/razor combination use Aveeno sensitive skin formula shaving creme and new razors every time you shave (This one works for white males as well).
Reply:Shave down south in the direction the hair is growing. Not against it . I told my girlfriend I had the same problem and it worked. Also i use a new razor and try not to shave pressing hard where you irritate the skin. good luck!
Reply:This is going to sound strange but after I shave, I use Mary Kay Acne Medicine. It is a Benzoyl peroxide mixture and it works great. I just put it on after I shave. On off days, I just put on some cortisone cream to keep the area moisturized.
Reply:You likely need to experiment a bit with different shaving products.

Small little Bumps on my stomach.?
This is all of a sudden but I broke out in little bumps on my skin. It started with 1 now I see about 6 of them. I have acne on my back, and I have already had Chicken Pox, and I haven't been around any poison ivy, oak, etc. I am not running a fever or anything the bumps are just TERRIBLY itchy. Im trying my hardest not to itch them. Anyone know what it could be?
Small little Bumps on my stomach.?
might want to get checked for shingles which can affect anyone who has ever had chicken pox
Reply:i get that on my arms some times. it might be a little allergic reaction to something. just put cortizone cream on it %26amp; it will go away
Reply:sounds like an allergic reaction to me too...take some Benadryl and put some Benadryl or Cortaid on it...
Reply:Have you been wearing metal close to your skin? Sometimes the nickle in a belt buckle or the button on jeans can cause a reaction. It may be a contact dermatitis. Try some benadryl for the itching, but be aware it may cause drowsiness. Try NOT to scratch and open the skin. It could lead to infection. Keep the area clean and dry.
If it gets worse, call your doc. Someone is always on call. Good luck.

Hi I have noticed bumps in and around my vagina and am quite worried.?
I have been realy worried about this and wondered if anyone had a idea on what it may be and any good website to look at.
The bumps are like, with out sounding crude. If you move a piece of the skin near the lips of vigina and try to strech it then there are little bumps in the skin.
Sorry if I am being really crude a s I wanted to get a good answer. xx

Why are they called goose bumps?
Goose bumps can only occur in mammals, since other animals do not have hair. The term "goose bumps" is therefore misleading: the bumps on the skin of a plucked goose technically do not qualify as piloerection.

Skin care advice please?!.. HELP?
I need help with my blocked pores. I used to squeeze out dried oils from little bumps on my skin all the time.. I think that's why I have so much blocked pores. When I squeeze them again, they just become blocked again and I try to be patient but they don't seem to fade away.. They just stay these hard bumps on my face and I really want clear skin. How to get rid of them?? (I don't have a big budget AT ALL..)
Skin care advice please?!.. HELP?
Wash your face every morning, and evening with Dove face wash, then use St. Ives Apricot Scrub, follow the directions. It exfoliates your skin. In about 1 to 2 weeks you will see a huge improvement. I have been doing it for years, and years.
These are very inexpensive item, I live on Social Security. The sales person might try and talk you into more expensive products, but it is not necessary. These are economical products and they work great.
I am 66 years old, and people cannot believe it. They all say I look like I am in my early 50's.
Reply:I use oxy pads in the winter and straight rubbing (isopropel) alcohol in the summer. Works great for unblocking pores!
Reply:Exfoliating scrubs. Many different kinds out there, but the Apricot scrub works the best for me. Make sure you use a warm damp washcloth on your face before you scrub, it will open up the pores and allow all that stuff to loosen up. Scrub daily, and when done, rinse with cool water to close pores again. Using a mask helps a lot too. If you wear makeup, use a primer. Laura Mercier makes a great one to go under foundation so it does not block your pores. Also, use a toner if you can. An Astringent may be too harsh.
Reply:Yes, you can use facial scrubs. But you have to use toners too, look for toners with salicylic acid. This will help clean out the facial blackheads.
Use glycolic acid soap for oily skin. This will prevent oil build up.
Choose creams and skin care formulations which are non-comedogenic.

Reply:Steam your face, i will tell you what to use, very simple and cheap. get a bowl, add boiling water and then add fresh lemon and cover your whole head and face with a thick blanket, dont oil it, do it again in the morning and evening for 4 solid days.

Bumps on my shin?
I get these bumps underneath the skin on my shin sometimes, directly on the bone. but they come and go and it is not from bumping my shin on things. when they appear, they dont really hurt. if i press on them hard enough, they do hurt and sometimes they turn into a bruise. i read that they could be calcium deposits. any advice?
Bumps on my shin?
you know calcium deposits don't really disappear, I am wondering if some small areas of veins are giving you trouble, maybe vericose veins. I would recommend you to see a doctor while the bumps are there, good luck

Major skin problem and in desperate need of help!?
OKay my face isn't too zitty but I have little zits and bumps under the skin on my forehead and chin. It doesn't look too bad but I hate it and sometimes it hurts. I also ahve tiny black heads all over my nose and inbetween my eyebrows and on my hair line and beside all my zits my skin is dry and when I try to cover it up with make up it looks worse. I've tried every thing. I use St. Ives apricot scrub, clean and clear, clearisil, i have this clean and clear scrub but it only seems to make my skin more dry and look worse. I don't really want to use proactive because you ahve to order it. I really need help. My freshman year is approching and I don't want to have bad skin for my first highschool year. I need to know what to use and how to use it and how many times a day and every thing. Please help me I've been baddaling this bad skin for years and I feel like an ugly loser around all my perfect skinned friends. Thanx a Million!
Major skin problem and in desperate need of help!?
Hey. I know what you mean.... I suffer from medium-severe acne. So,..I'll just tell you my experiences.
I tried almost every over the counter product. Anything from Clean and Clear or Neutrogena works pretty good. But it didn't help much for me. lol.
Proactive BURNED my skin. And when I went out in the sun, it would peel, and turn red. It took 8 months to get my skin back to normal again, and it still looked like ****. haha^^. AND I WORE SPF 50 every day! lol
So.. what I suggest to you, is to go see a dermatologist. It isn't that hard to make an appointment for something that can change your life dramatically. The derm will look at your skin, and find something that will suit YOUR skin type, and YOUR problem areas. I went to the dermatologist, and she gave me 2 pills to take, along with 2 creams. It took about 3 months for my face to be clear, and it got worst in months 1 and 2, but it's worth it. I use....Retin A micro, and clindamycin^^.
In the morning, I make sure I put on a light moisturizer on my face. I've tried EVERYTHING, but.... the only one that really moisturized my skin was....bio oil (you can get it at walgreens). Some good ones that might work for you are Aveeno and Olay. Didn't do much for me though.....
For St. Ives, the ones with beads are good for exfoliating. You shouldn't overdo it because it pretty much peels your skin, and makes it raw. =/ It's good if you use it like..once a week. But, use a gentle cleanser. I don't use one because it just irritates my skin too much.
ANYWAYS, it might take a while for you to find something that works for you... Just try products, but don't overdo it. And, keep it simple. Cleanse, and moisturize, and heal. Don't pop pimples,...just makes it worse.
Hope I helped! loool. bye!! %26lt;333
Reply:I had the same problem the summer before I started freshman year, and I decided to go to a dermatologist, who gave me two medicines that worked wonders on my skin. If I were you, I'd ask your parents to go for a consultation as soon as possible, since many medications take a while to start working, so you can start the year with confidence.
Reply:All those products that you were listing such as the apricot scrub, clean and clear, etc. Im sorry baby but that's not to REMOVE acne, it's to prevent it.
You have to cure your blemishes first. Ask your doctor about some medication. My aunt is a pharmacist and she gave me this medicine for my acne, and it worked enormously well, my skin cleared up soo well, and now i just maintain my clear skin with proactive.
Also, proactive doesn't have to be ordered, you can purchase a kit at the mall, and also it's a bigger kit than the one in the commerical.
good luck with your first year of high school!
Reply:Nothing over the counter will probably work. You will have to go to a dermatologist and talk to them. That is your best bet.
Reply:have you thought about what you eat? i used to be allergic to milk, but am over it. i notice when i eat and drink less milk products my face doesn't break out quite so badly. think about the things you eat a lot.
but boy can i relate... well, i too after years of suffering since like 6th grade went to the dermatologist for the first time this year over spring break, and i was a freshman in college. he put me on retin-a micro and it seems
to be working some, but it's still not quite the way i want it. i wish i could answer it better for you, but i'd suggest going to the dermatologist, you may be perscribed something completely different or stronger. it's like there is a sea of options.
i have tried this in the past few weeks, so i can' tell you how they work quite yet accurately, but i bought clean and clear oil absorbing wipes to try to soak up some excess oil to keep my pores from plugging up worse. they work really well to get the oil off, and less oil=skin that can breathe better and less to clog it up. also, try biore blackhead strips for your nose, they are pretty neat, but dont use them more then once every 3 days! (at least it says so on the package)
hope something works for you! i'm still waiting! :)
Reply:Well first off.....alot of this depends on diet believe it or not.
Also, on how often your washing your face. Consistancy is very important. The products that you use too, because some can make your skin worse. You might want to get your doc to recommend you to a dermatologist.
Another thing is the kind of makeup you're wearing. I would say steer clear from it right now, well cover up or foundation for now. But anything that's oil based is no good. That will just clog your pores. Waterbased foundations are the way to go.
My personal cleaning regiment is washing my face with noxema. I've been using it since I was 11 and it's always been great for my skin. I then put toner on, which draws out oils and dirt and tightens pores and then I use a 'water' based moisturizer. And 2 times a week I use a scrub on my face and also steaming the face is helpful.
OH and one more thing.....I find putting toothpast..yes toothpaste on zits really works. I put it on the affected area before I go to bed and in the morning I wash it off.
Hope any of this helps you..Good luck

Small bumps on hands?
I have these sesame seed looking bumps on my hands. After the bumps break, the skin where they were peels. The bumps are white and I've peeled off one and there's some type of liquid in them. There are also brown or red dots on the palm of my hand but I'm not sure if that's a spot where one burst or just a random part to this.
Lotions seem to make them worse. They came out of nowhere. Could someone tell me what they are and what I can use to lessen or get rid of them for now until I can see a doctor?
When I try to make a fist, they do hurt.
Small bumps on hands?
I have the same problem. I don't know what it is...but i DO know how it got there and why it's spreading . (no it's not some kind of herpes or anything like that) Have you used any kind of harsh abrasive to clean something? Sometimes harsh abrasives can cause rashes on palms of hands, sides of fingers and bottoms of palms of hands. Best thing would be for you is to go to a dermatologist and have him/her prescribe you an ointment. He/she may also recommend you use white cotton gloves after ointment is applied. (have a friend with the same problem as well but she actually went to see a doctor for it) And always keep your hands well moisturized..don't use scented lotions...Vaseline Intensive Care normally helps me out :) GL to ya :)

I have pea sized bump under skin of my vigina?
WHAT IS THIS PLEASE DONT SCARE ME EITHER,IT GOT BIGGER WHEN I STARTED PRESSING IT LIKE SWOLLEN,I HAVE GOT STD CHEECKS RECENT LAST WEEK,I DONT HAVE NOTHING ALWAYS NORMAL PAP SO NO HPV,IT COMES AND GOES WHEN IT WANTS,DOC SAID LAST TIME CLOGED UNDER THERE OR SOMETHING LIKE THIS,HAS ANY ONE EVERY HAD THIS HAPPEN
I have pea sized bump under skin of my vigina?
yes, i have had this before and my doc said it was a cyst. well i kept messing with it until i got it all drained out and it has never came back but it took me along time to drain., IT HURT. I had to be careful tho didn't want to get staff infection. I would suggest leaving it alone. cause it could get infected!! I just couldn't stand it being there but I would not try what i did at home lol
Reply:It's only a cyst or an ingrown hair don't worry
Reply:Those things come and go. You just got checked, you are fine. It's like a clogged pore, or infected hair. Leave it alone, it will go away in a couple days.
Reply:yes its quite common a hair grows back in and infects. It will clear up in a couple of days
Reply:do you mean like on your labia minora? it could just be a swollen bartholin's gland, they have a duct that secretes a fluid that acts as a lubricant and contains pheremones(scent attractants for males), and sometimes they get clogged and swell up, and can eventually form a cyst.
read here and see if this sounds like it,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bartholin_g... if it is, put a hot compress on it and rub it in a hot bath, and make a gyno appt just to be safe.
Reply:There are a few possibilities.
Small growths called lipomas (and others) can be found under the skin anywhere. Not harmful.
Obstructed gland is likely. If it becomes painful, a physician can help. Might go away on its own. Not a big deal.
Serious tumor. Not likely. Don't worry about this anymore than worrying about a pop machine falling on you.
Reply:someone told me a story a few months ago about something like that, It really blew me away that she would tell me something like that, hers started out that way and her bump between her Virgina kept growing for over ten years and the doctors didn't know what to do for her and she found one that just kept draining the puss for her, it finally went away on it's own after ten years, she said it was like a balloon and it really hurt and that she didn't have any diseases, that's so unimaginable, you should really get yourself checked out quick. They think what caused it was all from an ingrown pubic hair.
Reply:Relax...If you are a lady below age 25, that pea size hardness that comes and goes, is surely a Bartholin gland.
Those gland produce mucus and are located at the entrance of the vagina, and produce mucus (one of very many that lubricate the vagina) and it fluctuates in functions with the hormonal cycle that gives the menses.
When they are plugged by hard mucus, or small amounts of cell or sebum debris, they accumulate mucus from time to time, and you feel a small "hard marble" between the big and small lipe of the vagina. (Vulva).
It has nothing to do with HIV or cancer....Oh dear, if things were as simple as that.
It must be taken out under local anesthesia by your gynecologist, and its compulsory for the doctor to get it analyzed under the micoscope, just to be 100% sure.
By the way, Bartholin cysts, for some unknown reasons are noticed and the frequency is more than twice in dark skinned (african american girls) than fair skinned ones.
It (the cyst) is more of a nuisance than a real disease.
My advice is fro you to calm down, you have a common condition, however it is advisable to have it removed.
If you are the nervous type, besides the local anesthesia, a mild sedative is given IM (Valium 10 mg for examle) no problem.
Reply:This sounds like a ingrown hair to me. This is what you do. Make sure that you take a shower in the morning, after work, and right before you go to bed. You don't have to wash your hair each time but wash down there. This will make sure no more infection get in there. Then you want to not touch it Your oils in you skin will transfer to it and get it more infected. Right before you go to bed as well, put a hot rag on your vaginal area to rise the inground hair pocket out to see if will come out itself. If it doesn't come out by itself or go away with in 1 week. Then go ahead and try to get it out yourself. Good luck!
Reply:i have suffered with these since the age of nine...i was certainly NOT sexually active then!...they are cysts and now i suffer with ingrown hairs...the latter i squeeze out...the former are a little harder to deal with due to the area they are in but one way is to soak in a hot bath...as hot as you can bear...this will bring the cyst to a head and hopefully the core will become visible and you just squeeze it out...it hurts, but not as much as if you leave it, so grin (or not!) and bear it...good luck...x
Reply:Relax. Have you ever noticed how your vagina has pores/bumps that sometimes produce discharge? These will occasionally get infected. It could also be an ingrown hair, or a Bartholin's cyst. If it doesn't clear up in a while, then you would need to go to the gyno to get it checked.
