A bump on my skin with white head?

I get these bumps on my face from time to time, usually on the forehead or on the cheek or under the mouth/chin. If they're ripe and I squeeze it, pus usually comes out. They can get really itchy. What are these?

A bump on my skin with white head?
Most commonly they are zits, but they could be hives also if they itch. Check it out with a dermatologist, he can assess the problem better than we can
Reply:zits
Reply:pimples or zits probably...if you think it's something different though, ask your doctor to take a look at them. i'm sure its nothing to worry about, though
Reply:pimples...they're normal. use something with salicylic acid in it(like oxy) to heal them.
Reply:zits
Reply:They're white heads. Try not to squeeze them because they can get infected. Wash you face with facial cleanser and put acne medication on them.
Reply:problem a boil, pull the inside of a egg off place it over the injury, also real cold salt fat meat, both will draw the bump up and out.
Reply:the best way to avoid these is to wash your face with your favorite face wash and then use seabreeze antiseptic lotion after it comes in different strengths an can be found in the pharmacy . the best thing is to be consistant. good luck oh and try not to touch your face during the day.

Solomon Island Ground Boa Skin?

Does anyone out there have a Solomon Island Ground Boa...I noticed that mine has very rough skin and what in some places feels like bumps under the skin. Is this normal or could it have ticks or something. It was purchashed at a pet shop and to my knowledge it was not wild caught.

Solomon Island Ground Boa Skin?
How long have you had him? Was he young and growing when you first bought him? Where abouts do you keep him.

Take him back to the pet shop and see what they can tell you about him.

The General Care and Maintenance of Candoia :

THE PACIFIC BOAS

BY JERRY CONWAY

Introduction

What is Candoia? Candoia is a family or genus of snakes that includes 3 valid species at the time of this writing. Further taxonomic research may show Candoia to include 5 or more valid species within the genus. They are small boas, normally between 2 %26amp; 3 feet, which occur in many different sizes, colors and patterns.

Have a pleasant day.
Reply:umnmmm....Idk...my lil cuz had one but i never tough it.... :-P
Reply:This definitely sounds like your boa has either ticks or mites, most likely ticks, Try to find one of these bumps and see if you can see a tick (you should be able to gently lift the scales and look under them) If it's mites they might be a bit harder to find considering they are tiny. On a solomon island boa it would be easiest to look for the mites on the snakes belly. (since mites are black and that is the lightest part of a s.i. boa.) Another easy way to find out if your snake has mites is to give it a bath, you should be able to see the little black specks floating in the water. There is a fantastic product at petco to get rid of both ticks and mites if it does turn out your snake has them. It's made by a company called Natural Chemistry, and it's in a light tan-ish bottle in the reptile med section. If you don't have a petco then any other pet store should sell a similar product.

Proactive made my skin reeeeallly DRY :[?

I used proactive 2 days ago, and the next day, my skin had many itchy, burning bumps, and my skin is reeeally rough and disgusting now. So I've been trying to moisture it by not using any face prodects, but washing my face often with water.

Has anyone else been through this? How long does this usually last? I'm 16, and I can't imagine going to school with this disgusting, red, bumpy, dry face tomorrow :[

Proactive made my skin reeeeallly DRY :[?
Yes I went through the same thing...

You might be allergic to it...Unless you have really bad acne I would not recommend using proactiv...because it is made to dry out the acne that is on your face. So if you don't have acne it will just completely and totally dry you out. I know that the commercials look great...and I am sure that it works for some people...but it doesn't sound like your skin likes it so well
Reply:Proactive didnt do crap for me...it was a waste of money and it was hell getting them to cancel my prescription. try just washing once a day with soap. and use a moisturizer. i wouldnt recommend proactive to anyone.
Reply:Proactive has some really harsh chemicals in it and totally dried my face out - not to mention it bleached all my washcloths.

I am a HUGE believer in the Arbonne International Clear Advantage line - wash, toner, and lotion. It also has a skin support vitamin that pushes the toxins out of your skin and helps it heal from the inside out. Arbonne's products are made out of botanicals and they also use salicylic acid. They also offer a 45 day money back guarantee.

Reply:Without examining you there is no way to know what it might be. WHat did your doc say when you saw him for your last physical? If you didn't mention it to him/her then make an appointment if you want to get this checked out.
Reply:why dont you see a doctor, if u have had this condition your entire life, its either genetic and nothing can be done about it or you are constantly exposed to you pathogen which causes these alergic reactions, for example you use hte same soap, washing powder, or as you mentioned as you continued to grow did u participate in anything more then you did as a child e.g. drinking smoking, i would consult a dermitologist
Reply:use this medical soap called cetaphil it is nice and makes all sort of rashes and pimples go away leaving u with beautiful skin..........

Where did the term "goose bumps" comes from?

Do geese have bumps on their skin? It sounds like a wierd question..but really..think about it...

Where did the term "goose bumps" comes from?
Goose bumps (AE), also called goose pimples, goose flesh (BE), chill bumps, chicken skin, or the medical term cutis anserina, are the bumps on a person's skin at the base of body hairs which involuntarily develop when a person is cold or experiences strong emotions such as fear or awe. The reflex of producing goose bumps is known as horripilation, piloerection, or the pilomotor reflex. It occurs not only in humans but also in many other mammals; a prominent example are porcupines which raise their quills when threatened.

Goose bumps are created when tiny muscles at the base of each hair, known as arrectores pilorum, contract and pull the hair erect. The reflex is started by the sympathetic nervous system, which is in general responsible for many fight-or-flight responses.

Goose bumps are often a response to cold: in animals covered with fur or hair, the erect hairs trap air to create a layer of insulation. Goose bumps can also be a response to anger or fear: the erect hairs make the animal appear larger, in order to intimidate enemies.

I couldn't find where it orginiated from.
Reply:goose flesh

–noun a rough condition of the skin, resembling that of a plucked goose, induced by cold or fear; horripilation.

Also, gooseflesh.

Also called goose pimples, goose bumps, goose skin.

--------------------------------------...

[Origin: 1375–1425; late ME]
Reply:When you pluck the feathers from geese, the places on the skin where the large hair follicles were, stick up %26amp; are bumpy...hence the name "goose bumps."
Reply:Your skin takes on the appearance of a plucked goose. In French they say chicken skin ( peau de poulet)

Skin Allergies?

Ever since I moved here to South Texas, during the winter I always get these strange bumps on my skin that resemble mosquito bites. This is the third year that I've lived here in South Texas, and I don't know what it is. Does anyone have a clue as to what it might be? I only get them in the winter and I'm pretty sure it has something to do with where I live now.

Skin Allergies?
Have you been getting bit by any insects that you know of? That's one thing to consider. Likewise, are you using a different bath soap or laundry detergent? Switching soap and detergent can cause you to break out too.
Reply:It sounds like "No see ums".
